A. At the moment Pavi Yarns is an online store only but there are plans for a retail outlet in the future.
Q. When is Pavi Yarns open for enquiries?
A. Pavi Yarns can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via email, info@paviyarns.com. We are also open for telephone enquiries Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm (01665 60 60 62). If your call cannot be answered, please do leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Q. I am having trouble viewing some of the website pages, what could this be?
A. The most likely answer would be that you are viewing the website using an old browser. If you upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer this should stop any problems you may be having. If this does not resolve the issue, please don't hesitate to contact us at info@paviyarns.com.
Q. Security - Is ordering on the internet safe?
A. It is absolutely safe. Your credit card details are encrypted using the technology on our secure servers and we do not have access to your card details. If you are not happy about placing your order via the online order form, please feel free to telephone us with your card details on 01665 60 60 62. Your other option is to send an order to us via the post with a cheque.
Q. Are all of your products shown online?
A. We endeavour to show all of our products via the website but it's possible that some of the smaller items such as the vintage buttons, or newly arrived stock, has not yet made it onto the Pavi Yarns website. It's therefore best to keep checking the website because it will be updated frequently with new stock lines and exclusive offers.
Q. Are the colours displayed accurate?
A. The colours shown will vary depending on your computer monitor. Whilst every care has been taken to make them available to preview online as close to their true colour, some variations may occur depending on the settings of your monitor (contrast, brightness, colour). If the exact colour is very important and you are unfamiliar with the yarn, we recommend that you purchase a shade card from us and we can re-imburse the cost when you place an order.
Q. What is the best way to wash my hand-knitted garments?
A. To maintain the look of your woollen garments, it is best that they are hand washed gently in hand-warm water using either Lux Flakes or Dreft Hand-washing Powder. You need to then rinse well and gently squeeze out excess water. Do not wring out the water. If you use water that is too hot you can risk the wool ‘felting'. With some of the most modern washing machines, there are sometimes very good hand wash cycles that may be suitable. In this case, you could always use a tension swatch and put that through the machine to test it out.
Q. How do I order goods from Pavi Yarns?
A. Please visit the "How To Buy" page on the website for further details.
Q. Can I order patterns individually from your pattern selection, or do I have to order the book that the pattern is from?
A. Patterns are generally sold in book form only, unless it states otherwise.
Q. How can I learn to knit or crochet?
A. The best way to learn from another knitter, perhaps mum, auntie or someone. There are also various knitting groups up and down the country and you may be able to find a knitting class. It would be a good idea to visit the www.ukhandknitting.com website for further information. You may also find that there are classes available locally. Lastly, there are dvds available now to provide lessons from your television or computer.
Q. How often do you receive stock of Yarns and Accessories from the US ?
A. Yarns and accessories are imported from the US on an 'order only' basis. As a result, orders placed for these items arrive in store approximately 3-4 weeks after the date of order. You will be advised immediately of any delays to your order. Thank you for your patience & understanding.
Q. Will the price of goods ever change?
A. Whilst we will endeavour to maintain all goods at the prices listed, we reserve the right to change prices, as required, without notice. Should there be a major change to any one item, or the total of items from an order, we will endeavour to advise customers prior to sending the order.
Q. When will I get my order?

Q. If I don't like the wool, can I return it?
A. You have the right to cancel an order within seven days of purchase or within seven days of receipt of the goods (whichever is the longer). This does however exclude books, patterns, needles and discounted yarns . Should you wish to cancel your purchase within seven days, please contact us in writing (not email). All items must be appropriately packaged and returned, unused in their original packaging and in a saleable condition along with the invoice.
Q. Do you have stock for everything appearing in your online shop?
A. The nature of yarn and dye lots means that there will be occasions when we have a considerable level of stock, but not matching dye lots. All the yarns are supplied to us in packs of 10 balls and we will, of course, ensure that you have matching dye lots. Due to this, there may be occasions when we have to re-order a particular dye lot to complete your order and you will experience a short delay.
If the supplier doesn't have stock, however, you may experience a further delay and can either wait or change your order.
Q. Can you search for particular Dye Lots?
A. Wherever possible, we will assist you when you are trying to find yarn from a particular dye lot.
